State Minister Vasantha Senanayake visited Rwanda to further strengthen bilateral relations between Rwanda and Sri Lanka. The visit took place from 22-25th October 2018 as part of Sri Lanka ’s policy to engage with countries in the African continent. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 2011 and Rwanda is accredited to Sri Lanka Mission in Kenya.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka Tilak Marapana, concluded a four-day visit to Kenya on Wednesday 27th June 2018. The visit to Kenya was part of Government of Sri Lanka ’s border policy to expand relations in the African region. State Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. Vasantha Senanayake, represented the Government of Sri Lanka at the swearing-in ceremony of President elect H.E Mr. Uhuru Kenyatta on 28th November 2017 in Nairobi, Kenya. The ceremony was followed by a luncheon hosted by President Kenyatta at the State House.
